In 1926 people in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting
decided there should be a special day when Girl
Guides and Girl Scouts all around the world think of
each other and give thanks and appreciation to their
"sister" Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.  They decided
that February 22nd would be a good day as it was the
birthdays of both Robert Baden Powell and Olave his
wife.

On February 22nd 1927 the very first Thinking Day
took place.  We still celebrate Thinking Day, each
different unit or pack does this in their own way and
sometimes we celebrate it together, it doesn't matter
how we celebrate it because we are all thinking about
each other when we do.

What will you be
doing?
This is the
Thinking Day
Badge.
