This is a firm favourite at 12th Ashton Brownies.

Girls grab a partner and stand opposite them
( you need to leave plenty of room in between)
so that you have two straight lines, girls facing their partners.

The girl at the topmost left goes first and her partner goes on the
next verse, everybody should be back in line for the third verse
( Miss Valerie ) and all should have moved up one place.

Verse 1

Strut Miss Lucy, Strut Miss Lucy,
Strut Miss Lucy All day long.

First girl walks/dances/skips/jumps/ STRUTS through the middle
of the girls as the others sing the song.

Verse 2

Here comes another one, Just like the other one.
Here comes another one, All day long.

Partner of first girl, imitates the movement made, and also makes
her way through the girls and stands opposite her partner when
she gets to the bottom.

Verse 3

This way Valerie, That way Valerie,
This way Valerie That way this.

Girls jump to face the top of the line with their legs slightly ajar and
their arms out ( like a star jump) whilst their hands are shimmying
on the first THIS, then they jump and turn to face the bottom of the
line, again hands shimmying on THAT, then again turn and jump to
face the top, hands shimmying on THIS and repeat again on
THAT and WAY and THIS.

It's not as complicated as it sounds and is really good fun.
